Narrative theory has long been based in the structures of oral and written storytelling. While stories continue be primarily word-based text, narrative structure and theory are at work in mediated texts such as video, film, audio, photography, painting, sculpture, and music. Narrative Storytelling Across Media is about exploring nonfiction narratives and how those stories may be told through a variety of media.
Marsha Little Matthews, Ph.D., teaches mediated communication. Her research interests include narrative, meaning making, loss, and creativity. She teaches courses in multimedia production, media law and ethics, public relations, mass media and popular culture, and literary journalism.
